MIDFIELDER James Quilter has been added to the injury list at Clarence Park after suffering a hamstring strain in the defeat to Team Bath on Saturday.

City boss Steve Castle is hopeful the powerhouse will not miss too many games. Quilter was forced off in the first half at Bath, a pivotal moment in the contest, as City lost the midfield bite that had helped them storm to two victories and keep two clean sheets in their previous two outings. Castle said: "Lets hope that it is days rather than weeks with James."

If Quilter faces a spell on the sidelines Castle will select from Lee Clarke, Sean Ridgway or young James Archer to replace him in midfield alongside Ben Bowditch.

Defenders Ryan Frater and Chris Seeby remain a way off returning to match action but Castle could have winger Rod Hicks back in contention soon.

Saints host Hayes & Yeading United tonight (Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm) as they look to make progress in the Setanta Shield. Last term City knocked out Blue Square Premier side Torquay United as they reached the Fifth Round before losing to eventual winners Aldershot Town.

St Albans City Supporters Club are hoping to run a coach to the away game at Newport County on Saturday, September 20. The departure time is 9.30am from Clarence Road and the cost is £20 for Adults Supporters Club Members and £12 for Junior Members. Anyone wishing to book a place can do so at the club shop on Saturday when City host Thurrock or telephone Peter Knock 01727 847484 or Ian Bangs 07733 381874.
