MYLEY Cash’s manager believes his fighter is going to show his true class during his second professional bout.

Cash, 20, put on a stylish display to beat Irishman Joe Rea unanimously on points in a four-round contest at York Hall in March and is preparing to go back to the same venue on June 29 to face Dan Brown, a 36-year-old southpaw from Essex.

“I expect Brown to come out fighting because Myley is young and has only had one pro fight, but once he realises the class of fighter he is in the ring with he will go into survival mode,” Cash’s manager James Paisley told the Herts Ad.

In his first bout Cash utilised his stiff jab to control the pace of the fight before combining bigger head and body shots in the latter rounds. The judges all scored the fight 40-36 in favour of the St Albans ABC fighter.

Despite the comfortable debut win, Paisley is hoping his middleweight hitter will throw more punches in his second fight.

“I’d like to think Myley would not be as cautious as he was against Joe Rea. His confidence will be up so he won’t be holding back; he’ll be more relaxed so he’ll throw a few more loose shots.

“We’ve been building on what Myley did against Rea; he’s improved a lot and long may it continue. He’s still learning but he schooled his sparring partner the other day.”

Cash’s preparation has been focused on improving his fitness and core strength after his originally scheduled second fight, which was meant to be against Dan Blackwell on April 5, was cancelled due to a hand injury he sustained six days prior to the contest.

“I pulled him out of the fight because I didn’t want him losing because of a stupid injury,” explained Paisley.

“Myley is still a young man and hasn’t fully matured physically. The fact that he injured his hand shows that so we have worked on his fitness and core strength a lot. He has done a lot of road running and is in great shape.

“It should be a good fight; Brown will give it his all in the first round but if he doesn’t go into his shell and back up against the ropes [to protect himself] Myley could get a stoppage.”

Cash is Paisley’s only fighter on Goodwin Promotions’ Trail of Destruction bill after Southern Area Featherweight champion Michael Devine pulled out of his fight with an ear infection.

The evening will be headlined by Menay Edwards and Lee Markham, who will be fighting for the British Masters Cruiserweight and Middleweight titles respectively.
