Skipper Carlo Ditri led the Verulamians Under 13s to a fifth consecutive victory against a large and determined team from Chess Valley.

Vees trailed 14-12 at half time in a tense encounter with tries from Dreevesh Gooheram and Matthew Kemball-Cook.

Chess Valley deserved the lead but the second half was a different story as they struggled to cope with the Vees irresistible combination of forward muscle and pace in the three-quarters. Gooheram and Kemball-Cook doubled their try tally and further scores came from Aden Buchanan-Jones and Avenash Akhal - the latter capped a length-of-the-field movement started in the Vees 22 after a great snuggle of opposition ball by Connor Kenyon.

Chess Valley responded valiantly but the Vees defence held rock solid with outstanding tackling from the Molley twins, Thomas and Matthew.
