ST Albans Judo Club bridged the age gap when they made the trip to the Black Dragon Judo Club at Hornchurch in Essex for the National Winter 2006 Championships. Jordan Butler, aged 12, claimed a silver medal and lost only one fight while Barry Sliney, aged 50, collected a bronze medal in the Masters Dan grades. Sliney then entered the Open contest for all ages and weights and won another bronze with a fine display. The club is sending a team of 34 juniors and 10 seniors to the London Judo International in February.
