HOTSHOT Paul Hakim is relishing the opportunity to put one over his mates when St Albans travel to his former club Stevenage Borough in the FA Trophy this weekend.

Hakim was snapped up by Stevenage after he scored the winning goal the last time the two sides met in 2007 but, with his chances limited at Broadhall Way, he returned to Clarence Park midway through last season.

City's top scorer is looking forward to the big game and he hopes his team can put on a show for the fans. He said: "It should be good. Hopefully we get a decent result and put in a good performance. I just want to win the game and put on a good show for the fans."

Hakim, who has 10 goals to his name this season, is keen to get one over his former team mates at the heart of the Stevenage defence.

"There are only a few players that I know that are still there but I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll get one over a couple of my mates that are playing at the back."

Hakim doesn't feel he has a point to prove when he runs out at Broadhall Way on Saturday, despite not getting the opportunity to show what he could do. "I went down there and they were playing a 4-5-1 which didn't really suit me and I never really got a decent opportunity but that's just how it goes sometimes. It didn't go as planned but that's what happens. The fans down there were always half decent to me so I'll just go there and enjoy it."

Stevenage's league campaign has been a mixed one, with Graham Westley's side sitting in mid-table and Hakim believes his side can get a result like they did the last time they travelled up the A1. "I've been keeping an eye on their progress and it's been very up and down recently. Anyone can beat anyone on their day and we're more than capable of putting in a good performance and getting a result.
