London Colney 6 Buckingham Athletic 1

LONDON Colney inflicted defeat on Buckingham Athletic for the first time this season as the Blueboys put six past their opponents.

Going into the game Buckingham had won all three of their opening games but they had no answer for Colney's devastating attacking play.

Colney laid siege to the Buckingham goal in the opening 25 minutes and felt they should have had a penalty when David Parkinson went down in the box but referee Weight waved away the claims and booked Parkinson for diving.

Colney broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Gary Simmonds headed home from Frankie Jowle's cross.

Out of the blue Buckingham, with their first real attack, drew level with Criag Howkins's cross-cum-shot sneaking inside Munn's far post.

Just before half time Parkinson was felled in the box with the referee awarding the spot kick, however after consulting his assistant the official over-turned his original decision.

After the break Colney were eventually awarded a spot kick when Josh Humbert was bought down in the box and Simmonds emphatically dispatched the spot kick.

Two minutes later they made it 3-1 after Parkinson released Russell Gallagher whose powerful shot could not be prevented from crossing the line.

Greg Shaw made it 4-1 when he capitalised on Buckingham's inability to clear their lines by firing home from the edge of the box.

Parkinson eventually got on the scoresheet when he swept home after good work on the left by Paradise and McCafferty.

Tom Dickie was dismissed for Colney late on but it didn't stop Gallagher from grabbing his second and Colney's sixth.

London Colney: Munn, Hull (Paradise), McCafferty, Murphy, Dickie, Shaw, Gallagher, Humbert (Danslow), Parkinson, Simmonds (Magwood), Jowle. Subs not used: Hudson, Corran.

Cockfosters 1

London Colney 1

LONDON Colney left it late on Tuesday night to snatch a 1-1 draw from their trip to Cockfosters.

The home side nearly opened the scoring when Dean Barker was sent clear and although Munn saved his first effort he couldn't stop his second shot but fortunately for the Blueboys Tom Dickie was on hand to clear off the line.

Cockfosters were reduced to 10 men when Nicky Steward was sent off for a two-footed lunge on Shaun Murphy but it didn't stop the hosts opening the scoring after the break.

Aaron Ewing's corner found Tom Boxer in the area and he bundled the ball home.

The Blueboys pushed for an equaliser and were duly rewarded in the 82nd minute.

Frankie Jowle sent in a free kick and Paul Danslow was on hand to plant a bullet header into the back of the net.

London Colney: Munn, Paradise (Corran), McCafferty, Dickie, Murphy, Humbert, Jowle, Shaw (Danslow), Parkinson, Simmonds, Gallagher (Magwood).
