LONDON Colney cruised into the next round of the Herts Charity Shield with a convincing 3-1 win over Kings Langley.

London Colney were quickly into their stride from the start when Mark Paradise had a good chance but placed his header just over the crossbar.

They did not have to wait long to open the scoring, however, when Jowle played the ball across the edge of the box, whereupon Danny FitzGerald drove the ball low past the advancing Simon Ryder, the Langley 'keeper, to make it 1-0.

Jowle then turned the Langley number three Booth inside out but unfortunately his fine shot went just wide and then minutes later he struck the Langley bar.

The home side came back into the game with first Dan Tomkins shooting just wide whilst there were further efforts from Ian Felgate and Matt Johnson, which went very close.

London Colney gradually took control of the first half with first FitzGerald and then Jowle having efforts blocked whilst Russell Gallagher saw his header flash past the post following a Parkinson curling cross.

Finally the Blue Boys made it 2-0 when a corner kick by Jowle saw Kenny Hill send a powerful downward header into the back of the net.

FitzGerald then fired in a cracking shot on the turn, which went just wide whilst Parkinson fired in a fierce drive which Ryder tipped around the post.

Soon it was 3-0 when after a good build up saw Jowle play the ball wide to Dave Parkinson, who looked up and saw Ryder advancing to his near post whereupon Parkinson instantly curled the ball home off the inside of the post.

Robert Magwood then had a chance which was pushed away for a corner by Ryder and then a couple of minutes later Magwood cleared a dangerous curling corner at the other end which was taken by Felgate.

In the second half, Kings Langley should have found themselves 4-0 down but Parkinson's effort was easily saved by Ryder after finding himself clear.

Hull then headed over from another Jowle corner kick whilst a dangerous cross from Parkinson was cut off by Ryder.

Then after a mix up at the back Matt Johnson found himself in plenty of space and promptly struck a fine 20-yard shot past Rob Munn, giving him no chance and make the score 3-1.

After this Langley had few chances to pull another goal back but both times Johnson wasted these and London Colney held out for a 3-1 win.

LONDON Colney continued their pre-season build up with a 3-1 home win over Stansted with a first half goal from Russell Gallagher.

In the second half, Shaun Murphy bundled the ball home following a corner kick by Tegana James whilst a low drive from Paul Danslow made it 3-0.

Paul Seamore got Stansted's goal through a free kick whilst Damion Green hit the bar with a header.
