HARPENDEN Badminton Club recorded a comprehensive 8-1 win over Hastoe in their South West Herts Men's Division One clash.
This was a must win game for Harpenden after losing away to the same team earlier in the season.
The home side started well with first pairing of Roger Lever and Richard Kershaw easily taking the first game 21-16, 21-8.
Hastoe levelled the tie when Harpenden duo Guru Lota and Chandran Pillai lost their first game in three but the team never looked back from then and the rest of the games were taken in two except for third pair Chris Holland and Philbert Chan.
They took a close matched game to three and were victorious 21-16, 15-21, 21,15.
This was a good result which could go a long way to winning Harpenden the league this season.
The club have one more match to play at home againt Little Bushey who they have already beaten away this season.
