NINE members from Verulam Swimming Club performed superbly to qualify for the National Biathlon to be held in Macclesfield. In the 17/18s age group Rob Van Tromp came first in the swim and the run to take the title overall.

NINE members from Verulam Swimming Club performed superbly to qualify for the National Biathlon to be held in Macclesfield.

In the 17/18s age group Rob Van Tromp came first in the swim and the run to take the title overall. Stuart Webb came first in the swim and the run to win the 15/16s age group and Lewis Childs came second in the swim and the run for second place. Georgina Thornton came first in the swim and second in the run and Abbie Smith came second in the swim and first in the run placing them first and second respectively overall. Pia Faulkes took third place overall.

In the 13/14s age group, James Devine finished third, James Thornton took fifth place and Amy Webb also finished fifth overall.

The National Biathlon finals in Macclesfield take place on Sunday, May 18 and the Verulam members are training hard in preparation.
