St Albans City captain Ben Martin has joined Vanarama Conference South rivals Boreham Wood.
The 32-year-old made the surprise switch on Friday and went on to play 90 minutes in Wood’s 3-0 win over Staines Town on Saturday.
Speaking to Saintsnet, City’s joint manager James Gray said: “I am sorry to see Ben go. We are good friends and remain so, however we both agree it is the right move for Ben at this time.”
