Ben Herd has become St Albans City fourth summer signing after completing his move from rivals Hemel Hempstead Town.
The full back, who played almost 300 Football League games for Shrewsbury Town and Aldershot Town, arrives after a season at Vauxhall Road.
Prior to that he was with Ian Allinson at Boreham Wood for a few games.
Herd, who now runs his own performance academy, follows Shaun Lucien (Wealdstone), Ian Rees (Biggleswade Town) and James Russell (Boreham Wood) into Clarence Park.
He makes the opposite journey to that of City’s captain Sam Corcoran who joined Hemel yesterday (Monday).
