BASKETBALL: ST COLUMBA’S College U13s enjoyed success in the National Cup recently travelling back from Nottingham with the silverware.

The St Albans prep school face St Margaret’s School from Liverpool in the final and in an exciting game St Columba’s took an early lead but St Margaret’s never gave up and continued to push right until the last whistle. However St Columba’s strength in depth was too much for the opposition and the St Albans boys finished the victors, winning 73–62.

St Columba’s College had already completed the first half of the double by beating Sandringham School, St Albans in the County Cup Final.

As well as the U13s’ success the U12s continued a winning streak of 11 years by winning the U12s County Cup rally.

More impressively, it’s the second year in a row where St Columba’s A and B team contested the final. Both teams had to win their group games and then return to St Columba’s to beat Beaumont School in the three team final, St Columba’s A then beat the B team in the final game to win the County Cup.
