ALEX Bailey says he is glad to be back at the club after he re-signed for the Saints last week.

The former Arsenal and Chesterfield defender has played the last two games out of position at left back but he told The Herts Advertiser that he is just happy to be playing regularly.

"I'm glad to be here and glad to be playing football regularly. I've been down at Aldershot playing some friendly and reserve games - the level of opposition has been good but it's not the same as competitive football. Coming back here I'm obviously familiar with a lot of the lads, I know their tendencies and they know mine so yeah it's good to be back."

Bailey has been pleased with the way the team has played since he returned and he believes they deserved more on Saturday.

"Prior to myself coming back the form hasn't been too good. I think today that Team Bath were there for the taking personally. They've got quite a big reputation but I thought if there was team trying to win the game it was us but we just couldn't get that final half a yard to just get a shot off but hopefully on Tuesday that will change."

Manager Steve Castle and several players said after the game that the pitch was hard to play on but Bailey believes that the players shouldn't let that hinder them.

"It was a bit lively but I don't think we give ourselves enough credit for how technical some of our players are. You can see when we do believe in ourselves then something like that shouldn't hinder us at all."

City welcome back Paul Hakim for tonight's game with AFC Wimbledon and Bailey believes that will be a major boost to the Saints chances of getting something from the game.

"Gary [Cohen] and Si [Martin] I thought today were brilliant even though they didn't have anything to show for it at the end but I think Haks [Paul Hakim] has got the nose - just to nose around the box and I don't think you can really teach that. Gary gives you great athleticism and Si just gives you a good blend of athleticism and hold-up play but I think Haks has got that selfishness around the goal and I think today we might have been missing that. It's going to be interesting to see who starts on Tuesday because I thought Simon Martin did really well today."

The fullback believes that tonight's game will be a massive test for the Saints and he believes the fans will be treated to a good game of football.

"I've only see one game of them when they were on satellite television playing against Wycombe and they started the game quite brightly. They've run away with this league so far it'll be interesting. I think you're going to see a really good game on Tuesday.
