Colney Heath are making a play to persuade Wes Awad to return to his managerial position.
Awad announced he was stepping down at the weekend after a year in charge of the Magpies. It was his second spell at the club and this season he steered Colney Heath to its highest ever league finish – third in the SSML Premier Division – and Herts Charity Shield glory.
But, after such a good season and plans to further the club behind the scenes as well, chairman Martin Marlborough is trying to retain Awad’s services for at least another season.
