There was an excellent turnout last Sunday at Townsend Tennis Club St Albans for its annual Autumn Mixed Tournament, with players keen to make the most of the halfway decent weather and lack of rain.
Sixteen couples enjoyed a well organised competition of Mixed Tennis, with round robin box leagues in the morning followed by a buffet lunch, then semi finals and finals in the afternoon.
Winning the day were Alison Asplin and her partner Jonathon Gosbell who join only three other couples to have their name engraved twice on the trophy. Runners up were Ann Saunders and her partner Bill Tindale.
