St Albans City will be in the Vanarama National League South again next season – after their 4-0 win over Dartford at Clarence Park.

In front of a season-high crowd of 1,310, two own-goals, Louie Theophanous’ 22nd of the season and James Kaloczi’s first since arriving back at the club gave Saints the three points that guaranteed their safety.

The club’s management were keen to stress that escaping relegation shouldn’t be a cause for celebration but considering City were certainties for the drop in February, there were plenty of smiles around the old ground on Saturday.
