JONATHAN Hunt struck the only goal from the penalty spot as St Albans City made it four straight wins in the Blue Square South on Tuesday at Welling United.
Manager Steve Castle restored Lee Clarke to his starting XI at the expense of striker Paul Hakim with Gary Cohen switching from midfield to attack.
City were going in search of their third away win on the bounce after victories at Newport County and Basingstoke Town.
The Saints were also looking for a third clean sheet in four games which they achieved and Castle's men have now conceded just one goal in those four matches as they look to make an impression in the top half of the league.
