ST Albans launched their indoor hockey campaign last weekend and are in a strong position after their first weekend of activity in National Division One.

The Tangerines are sitting in second place behind Havant who they are yet to play, level on points with Doncaster. Their first game saw them lose 5-4 to Doncaster and then they went on to beat Harleston, Shefiield Uni Bankers and Surbiton. This weekend they face a crunch game against Havant, who are currently topping the league, ahead by one point. They also clash with Stourport, Barford Tigers and Guildford. The action takes place in Eastleigh.

The ladies progressed to the second weekend of the competition after finishing third in National Division Two South.

Albans beat Harleston, Wimbledon and Staines to go through. They compete in the play offs where two positions in Division One are on offer to the first- and second-placed sides in the six team league format.
