St Albans Striders came 32nd overall at the 12-leg Southern Road Relay on Sunday.

The race, which took place at the Milton Keynes Athletic Club, is made up of alternating short and long legs of between five and eight kilometres each.

Several Striders also took part in a 20 mile race in Oakley, near Bedford. The first Strider to finish was Simon Fraser in 14th place, with a time of 2:09:49. He was followed by Ross Taylor in 2:33:31, taking 150th place. Rav Dighe and Ben Scott were in 198th and 200th place, with times of 2:38:37 and 2:38:46 respectively.

Wendy Walsh was the winner of the women’s parkrun race on Saturday in a time of 18:58 and Adam Dunajko and Graham Smith were second and third overall at the 5K race in Verulamium park.

Jack Brooks was also the first vet 60-64 in the Tomoka Marathon in Ormond Beach in Florida, which he completed in 3:45:33.
