The anticipated match-up came about after Harps enjoying a comprehensive 8-0 home win over Brantham Athletic in the third qualifying round on Sunday.

Sophia Amanor proved the big difference between the two sides, scoring four in the first half and going on to get a fifth.

Rebecca McShane, Melody Jones and Iva Hrisimova got the others.

The Harpenden hot-shot struck first with nine minutes on the clock, powerfully heading home a curling corner from McShane, with the second coming on 27 minutes.

Natalie Cloy made a good run down the right wing and pulled the ball back for Amanor who does not miss from there.

The hat-trick, four minutes later, came in similar circumstances with Cloy providing the assist.

Amanor was a little further out this time and had more to do but still struck it low into the net via the foot of the far post.

The fourth saw her slipped in by Erin Shacklock with the forward beating two defenders before cutting in and firing home.

Amanor turned provider seven minutes into the second half, a one-two with McShane allowing the latter fire across Madley in the Brantham goal.

McShane nearly scored another with a header that brushed the outside of the upright and the sixth didn't arrive until 73 minutes in, Jones catching out the keeper with a wonderful effort from 25 yards that dipped under the crossbar.

McShane again went close to another goal, Madley making the save while the keeper kept out a Jaime Curtain effort at her near post.

McShane then crossed the ball for Shacklock but her well struck effort went just the bar.

Harpenden would not be denied though and they finally made it 7-0 in the 77th minute.

Hrisimova got the assist but it was a sizzling strike from Amanor that whizzed past Madley and nestled in the back of the net.

Chloe Dinsey, who had gone close at the end of the first half, did so again at the end of the second but again her header from a McShane corner went just wide.

Shacklock also had a firm effort saved by Madley but the exclamation point was added on 89 minutes,

Hrismova won the ball out on the left and cut in towards the box before unleashing a low shot that found the far corner.

Before the Hatters come to town, Harpenden turn their attentions back to the league when they host Newmarket Town on Sunday.
