It was a busy week for St Albans Striders, both international and domestic, as the autumn road race season got into full swing.

It started with Matthew Cooper achieving an impressive first place in the Olympic Park Chase the Sun 10k event in a PB of 33 minutes six seconds.

The final Striders club championship race of the year was the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham.

The strongest finishers for the Striders were Patrick Hawker in fifth place, clocking 1:14:24, and Penny Habbick, who finished as fourth lady in 1:27:54.

Other impressive results included Nigel Aston (1:28:38), Howard Bull (1:30:48 PB) and Alastair Green (1:36:24).

Harriet Hollis completed a 50k ultra marathon race in Tring, finishing seventh in 5:18.

The Striders were also in action in Europe.

Steve Buckle finished 19th in the Warsaw Marathon, and third in the MV40 veterans category, while Helen Palmer, Jo Farmer, Anna Carter and Paul and Tracey Mostyn ran the iconic Berlin Marathon, one of the world's big six marathons alongside Boston, Chicago, London, New York and Tokyo.
