Three pupils from St Albans School helped England U18 rugby side to victory over France.

The squad ran in seven tries in the 41-0 success, part of the 2023 U18 International Series.

Charlie West, Toby Bracken and Tayo Adegbemile were all involved in the win over in South Africa, with Bracken having a hand in one of the tries.

Skipper Kepueli Tuipulotu said: "The boys dug deep, we had a gameplan and we came out and executed it well.

"Also, thanks to the French team for putting up a good fight. You win some, you lose some, but we got the win today and it was a good effort from the boys all round.

"It’s been beautiful out here in South Africa, getting professionalism in this environment and it’s been good from the fellas coming in and getting pumped for the games coming up."

Head coach Jonathan Pendlebury added: "The lads have trained very hard and have given their all on the paddock thus far, that’s down to their commitment as well as the input from the coaching staff as a group.

"This group has welcomed a lot of new players to a smaller core with previous experience at this level, they have set their own targets and expectations."

The squad face Western Province on Tuesday before concluding their tour against hosts South Africa on Saturday.
