A new golf tournament - organised by the Legends Tour - is set to be held in Hertfordshire.

The event, held at Hanbury Manor Marriot Hotel & Country Club, will take place between Saturday (August 12) and next Monday (August 14).

"Some of the game's most decorated players" will compete in the tournament, which will be hosted by two-time DP World Tour winer Simon Khan.

Khan famously won the 2010 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth with a one-shot victory over fellow Englishman Luke Donald and Swede Fredrik Andersson Hed.

The golfer commented: “Hanbury Manor was one of the original new courses – a Jack Nicklaus-design back in the early 1990s.

"There are a lot of exciting holes on the course, and it should bring a lot of entertainment.

“I am looking forward to raising my level and being in contention to win.

"I didn’t really have that last year; maybe in one event in the Seychelles but that was it.

"I want to have that feeling again and that is why we play.

“What I am really looking forward to is everyone coming to play my home course and having it set up really well.

"If everyone comes away and has enjoyed themselves – hopefully I play well and beat them all as well – that would be great.”

Phil Harrison, the chief executive officer of the Legends Tour, added: “Since our Legends Tour rebranding in 2020, our ambition has been to keep growing.

"The introduction of The Legends Trophy is another example of just that.

“We are delighted to be bringing major international golf back to Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club and are extremely pleased that Simon Khan has agreed to host at his home course.

"The whole event promises to be a great few days of golf, so I would encourage everyone who can to head down and see some great golf.”

Tickets will cost £10 for adults, £7.50 for over-50s and under 16s receiving free entry.
