There was a clean sweep of wins for both the St Albans District secondary and primary schools teams at this year's Hertfordshire Inter-District Schools Swimming Championships.

The secondary schools, lead by captains Caitlin Hartley and Ethan Ivelaw-Chapman, won all age groups woth Hartley also breaking a long-standing record in the senior girls' 50m breaststroke.

The primary schools team, lead by Charlotte Douglas and Ching Yau, won in all but one age group as well as claiming the win overall after a close battle with Watford.

This was the fifth consecutive win for the primary schools' squad.

Team manager Andrew Ellis said: "The St Albans District School swimmers have excelled this year, across the board.

"It was very exciting to see the enthusiasm of the swimmers and the wins are a just reward for their efforts."
