David Noble has said the National League need to give serious consideration to playing future play-off finals at a neutral venue
His St Albans City side lost 4-0 to Oxford City in the National League South final at the Hoops' Marsh Lane ground, played there by virtue of Oxford having finished higher than Saints in the regular season.
It attracted a crowd of 3,100 but only 500 were officially following the Hertfordshire side, tucked into a corner of the ground.
And with Kidderminster Harriers, another well-supported side, travelling to Brackley Town for the North final, the City boss believes there is a discussion to be had.
He said: " You’ve seen what our fans can do when they are given something to get behind but there wasn't much too shout about.
"But it didn't feel like a cup final and that’s something the National League has got to look at.
"You get the advantage [from your league position] in the semi-final and the knockout game.
"The final should be at a neutral ground but there are no complaints. As I said the best team won by a long stretch."
