It was a family affair for two St Albans athletes at the Berkhamsted event.

 

Adam Healey of St Albans Athletics Club and dad Martin, running for sister club St Albans Striders, took part in the five-mile run and half marathon respectively.

Adam was the first to finish in the U16 category in a time of 31 minutes 42 seconds.

A number of St Albans athletes also took part in some of the final cross-country races of the season.

 

The British Athletics Inter Counties Championships includes athletes representing 46 counties, regions and districts throughout the UK.

Sophie Jacobs was representing Bedfordshire and continued her phenomenal season by finishing fifth in the U17 race.

Six of the club's U13 athletes were in the orange vests of Herts with Georgia Tongue the first of them home in 52nd.

She was followed by Emma Treloar and Lily Kennedy for the girls with Isaac Gibson Dunt and Sam McNaught in the boys' race. 

In the U15s Zoe Hilton, Sophie Treloar and Mylo Neale had impressive runs while Alex McDonald was 56th and first man home for Herts in the U17 category.

Adam Smith and Becky Cray were also representing Herts as was Sarah McGrath (21st) and Lily Tse (44th) for the U20 women.
