St Albans Striders had difficult weather to battle before, during and after their latest cross-country exertions - but they still managed some excellent results.
Wind and rain came from the top while underneath the course for the latest Chiltern Cross-country League meeting at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes was mud.
And yet of the 25 Striders that took part, there were stand out performances for the women’s team from Keira Stern, who finished seventh, Lily Seach and Hollie Ryder.
They are positioned third overall after four rounds.
The men were led home by Oliver Mytton in 72nd position, ahead of Alex Johnston and Tom Croft, results that leave them 11th in the standings.
Elsewhere Steve Scorer entered his first ultra run, taking part in the Rasselbock Winter Run in Sherwood Forest.
He finished with a distance of 56.34 km over a period of in excess of five hours.
