The return of the Spartan South Midlands League saw plenty of derbies - and there were some big results across the divisions.

Stotfold moved second in the Premier Division after an injury-time winner at Shefford Town & Campton.

Mason Spence stuck a free-kick in the top corner six minutes after the 90 to give the Eagles a 2-1 success.

They are now one point behind Crawley Green, but with two games in hand, after the leaders lost 2-0 at Dunstable Town.

Leighton Town are third after a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Ardley United. They are a point adrift of Stotfold but have played a game less.

Potton United lead the best of the rest while the two teams below them, Leverstock Green and Tring Athletic, drew 0-0.

Game of the day came at Chalk Lane where home side Cockfosters lost 4-3 to St Panteleimon.

Fosters went ahead on the stroke of half-time through Corey Ugbomah and then the same player doubled their advantage three minutes after the break.

It was all square just 10 minutes later though and the visitors took the lead before former Colney Heath skipper, Chris Griffin, levelled on 71 minutes.

However, with the game in stoppage time St Panteleimon grabbed all three points.

At the other end of the table, both Colney Heath and Arlesey Town secured big wins to close in on safety.

The Magpies won 2-1 at home to neighbours London Colney, Emeh getting what turned out to be the winner in the second half from a Hadley Gleeson cross, while Arlesey triumphed 1-0 at home to tenants Baldock Town, Sudayisi Sendege converting a penalty with 11 minutes to go.

The results leave London Colney seven points adrift of their neighbours at the foot of the table while the Magpies trail the Blues by two points.

Hoddesdon Town and Harpenden Town are the two teams above them after a 2-2 draw at Rothamsted Park.

Josh Setchell scored twice for Harps, putting them ahead in the first half before equalising on 75 minutes.

In Division One, Letchworth Eagles lost 3-1 at Langford.
