Old Albanian stormed to the top of the National Two East table with a victory over old friends at Blackheath.

The visitors to Woollams are coached by ex-OA boss James Shanahan and the three away tries were all scored by former players of the home club.

However, they were bettered by four from the new Albanian stars who won 24-19 to go two points clear.

Heavy traffic meant Blackheath arrived late but despite a delayed and slow start, they turned round 19-12 in front.

Kaz Henderson had put OAs in front with pace and power getting him over in the the right corner and Alex Noot ghosted through to put them back in front, Sam Jones converting.

Nick Foster and two from Olly Walliker, plus a conversion from Tom Ffitch, handed Blackheath the lead and it took until 15 minutes to go for the hosts to pull level, Jones scoring and converted his own try.

Three minutes later a great run and kick from Elliott McPhun was collected by Kemp Price for the winning score.

OAs head Coach Dan George said: "I’m proud of my young team. They brought energy and intent, some of the best I've seen in my time in the game.

"These players have grown together over the last two years and are one of the best groups I have worked with."
