The first round of the Chiltern Cross Country League brought pleasing success for St Albans Athletics Club.

Held in Oxford, Conor Treloar won the U11 boys' race which helped secure a magnificent first place in the team competition.

He was joined in the scoring positions by Jonah McNaught, Dan Kennedy, Mark Bansaghi and Harry Hirst.

Not to be upstaged the girls finished third out of 14 teams with Charlotte Douglas, Eliana Ross Arevalo, Olivia Gilves and Nadya Ransley all running well.

The U13 runners enjoyed the best results with third place for the boys and second for the girls.

Top scorers were Peter Bansaghi of Sandringham School with Sam McNaught and Lewis Daniel chasing.

For the girls Georgia Tongue finished an impressive fourth place with Lily Kennedy and Emma Treloar following on behind.

Other top ten finishers were Mylo Neale in the U15 boys and Sarah McGrath in the U20s.

A joint St Albans Striders and AC ladies team finished fourth with Hannah Rayden their first finisher ahead of Megan Steer, Lily Search, Lucy Jones and Lauren Eckley.
