Batting lets Andy Taylor’s side down
SHL Division Six
Flamstead 78
Chorleywood II 83-3
Chorleywood II won by seven wickets
WITH Chorleywood chasing second place and Flamstead trying to improve on sub standard performances over the last couple of weeks the scene was set for an interesting clash.
Flamstead were inserted on what looked like an excellent track. Traffic on the M25 and a blown tyre meant that Oswin was joined by Lindley to open the innings. Unfortunately both were dismissed for naught in the first and second over respectfully.
Brown joined Heseltine and offered the only real top order resistance hitting 17 before being bowled off his pads. Hesletine fell for 8 and Taylor who usually opens came in at number five and was caught for 11.
With only Rose (24) making double figures and a further three ducks Flamstead were rolled over for just 78.
Rogers and Wilkinson gave the home side a few nervous moments as they took three wickets, but the number four and five steadied the innings and knocked off the total in 25 overs.
Skipper, Andy Taylor “Whilst disappointed to miss out on promotion our batting was not up to standard and is something that we need to focus on next season.”
Flamstead finish the league season in 11th place.
