CRICKET: THREE of Redbourn Cricket Club’s 10-year-olds have been offered the chance to join the Hertfordshire County Cricket Winter Training Squads.
What makes this all the more unusual is that the three youngsters are in fact triplets. Conor, Ellen and Niamh Yorath have all come through the thriving Redbourn Colts section and whilst Conor and Ellen are delighted to have taken up the offer Niamh has decided against joining the squad as the training sessions clash with choir.
Niamh, however hopes that she will be able to join up with her sister and represent Hertfordshire in the future.
Former Redbourn ladies wicket-keeper Karen and Redbourn CC’s destructive veteran opening batsman Chris, the proud parents commented: “It’s great to see a club like Redbourn giving boys and girls the opportunity to play such a wonderful game. It’s great what they’ve achieved to date and we hope that they continue to enjoy the game as we have.”
They join Redbourn Colts’ Adam Pritchard, Will Comfort (Hertfordshire U-12), Matthew Taylor (Bedfordshire U-12) and Luke Dinwoodie (Hertfordshire U-14) in obtaining county honours at Junior level.
