SECOND half goals from Sakho Bakare and Simon Martin ensured St Albans City’s Evostik League Southern Premier Division play-off push continued with a 2-0 win over Bashley on Saturday.
Bakare broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute as he headed home a Sean Shields cross.
Just seven minutes later the three points were virtually sealed as Bakare set-up Martin who fired home.
The victory maintained The Saints impressive seven-match unbeaten streak and leaves them five points off the play-off places.
City will be hoping to continue that run on Saturday as they host Banbury United at Clarence Park, kick-off 3pm, before David Howell’s side entertain play-off rivals Stourbridge next Tuesday night, 7.45pm.
