ATHLETICS: ST Columba’s Prep School rounded off another successful sporting year with victory at the St Albans District Primary Schools’ Athletics Championships.
The team, made up of boys from Years 3 to 6, won the Large Schools’ Boys Trophy for a record-equalling 18th time. After a strong show in the field events, including first and second in the cricket ball throw, the sprinters continued to collect points as seven out of eight runners qualified for the finals to keep the scoring constant across the different age groups. Two second places were recorded in the sprint finals to round off the afternoon but the victory can be attributed to a whole team effort.
