St Albans City held Tonbridge Angels to a goalless draw in Kent on Saturday in the FA Trophy first round proper.
City have already beaten Angels once this season, winning 2-1 at Clarence Park in the FA Cup, but the task of completing a clean sweep was made all the more difficult when Richard Graham was dismissed after just three minutes for an alleged elbow. It was the 33-year-old’s first red card in his career.
Facing a team from the Conference South with 10 men for 87 minutes, Saints dug in to hold their opposition to very few chances and managed to escape Kent with a 0-0 draw and set up a return leg to Clarence Park tonight (Monday, December 2). Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
