With places at the National Swimming Championships in Sheffield up for grabs, Beechwood Park School’s relay teams triumphed in the Schools’ Swimming Association Regional Finals.
Kylie-Paul Le Bas, Beechwood Park’s drector of sport, said: “The fact that the boys’ and girls’ relay teams made it through to the regional finals for both the medley and freestyle events was a huge achievement in itself.
“The girls’ team just missed out on qualifying for the nationals by the narrowest of margins, but the boys’ results - winning the medley and coming a close second in the freestyle finals – mean that they will head to Sheffield for the National Finals on June 21.”
The swimmers came home with an armful of trophies, winning the Division 10 Boys Mixed Stroke Shield; the Herts Cup, for the best school team in Hertfordshire (freestyle); and the Schools Cup, for the best school team in Hertfordshire (mixed stroke).
