St Albans City has signed up eight players for next season as the squad begins to take shape.

On Thursday, the club announced that Lee Chappell, Sam Corcoran and Joe Welch had signed. Then, less than 48 hours later, five more had committed, with Omar Beckles, Darren Locke, John Kyriacou, Danny Green and Simon Thomas signing on the dotted line.

“Lee, Sam and Joe are all superb players and they want to play for this club. We’ve got a better idea of how to attack the league next time around so we’re going to need players of that quality in our squad,” joint manager James Gray told the club’s website.

“To have [the other] five players coming back for another year is fantastic news for St Albans City. Everyone behind the scenes is continuing to work hard to ensure we start the season with the best possible squad.”
