St Albans Strider Ben Scott completed the Centurion Running Thames 100 race on Saturday.
Scott finished the course, which takes runners from Richmond in South West London to the centre of Oxford, in 26 hours and 58 minutes.
Blake Vivian won the St Albans parkrun in a time of 16:49, followed by fellow Striders Adam Dunajko and Martin Whitworth, who finished in times of 17:22 and 17:39 respectively. Wendy Walsh was first in the women’s race in 19:14 and Helen Cartlidge was in second place with a time of 19:51.
Striders also took part in the inaugural Gadebridge parkrun, notably Steve Smith who finished 16th in 21:25.
Elsewhere, Howard Bull came 16th in the Missing People 10K race in Clapham Common on Sunday, Doug Hobson finished Suffolk Heritage Coast Half Marathon in 1:35 and Graham Smith was 16th at the Great Birmingham 10K in 35:47.
The club is hosting a Run with Striders Course for people of all abilities interested in getting into running. For details, see the club’s website. There are 40 places available.
