St Albans City were held to a goalless draw at Billericay Town on Saturday.
The Ryman League Premier Division team kept the Saints from picking up their first win of pre-season.
After the game, joint manager James Gray said on Twitter:” Not the greatest of games played on a very uneven pitch. [The] lads have worked tirelessly for over three weeks now and looked a little lethargic.”
The next test for City is on Tuesday, when Crystal Palace come to Clarence Park. Kick-off is 7.30pm.
