St Albans City have signed Luke Allen after he impressed while on trial.
The former Hemel Hempstead midfielder had been training with Saints since the start of pre-season and featured in the friendlies against Watford, Dagenham and Redbridge, Boreham Wood and Barnet.
In the Barnet game, he was the best player on the pitch, setting up a goal and controlling City’s forward play.
Chairman Nick Archer said: “Luke is a player who we watched several times last term and on each occasion we were impressed with his touch and energy, I am delighted that we have managed to secure his services going forward.”
After the 3-2 loss to the Bees, joint manager James Gray praised Allen, saying: “He’s got good energy, a good touch, wants to score goals and will defend.”
Allen started out in the Spurs Academy before his move to the Tudors.
