St Albans Striders dominated the inaugural Harpenden Half Marathon with four top-10 finishes.
The weather of late meant it was an extremely muddy affair with the largely flat course comprising a mix of surfaces.
Striders first four finishers all completed the race in under 1:30; particularly impressive given the conditions underfoot. Stephen Hosty and Rowan Daly were second and third, Hosty clocking a personal best of one hour 24 minutes 54 seconds, and only five seconds separated Richard Harry and Jamie Sinclair in seventh and eighth.
Ruth Kent was the first female Strider to finish and 14th female overall, with another PB time of 1:54:07, and there was also a PB for Magdalena Petrus (2:09:01).
A bit further north, Striders’ chairman Graham Smith was 11th in the Milton Keynes 10K while three Striders took part in the MK half marathon, Helen Cartlidge the 11th female.
