Any niceties built up between St Albans City and East Thurrock United will have to end briefly on Saturday when Saints look to build on their win over Dartford.

The two clubs swapped players last week when Lewis Knight made the move to Clarence Park while Roman-Michael-Percil moved in the opposite direction.

But City boss Ian Allinson knows the result at Rookery Hill is the most important thing on the agenda this week.

He said: “It was nice of East Thurrock and I’ve got to thank John Coventry as we didn’t put the seven-day approach in for Lewis until the bank holiday weekend and he said as long as we could get that out of the way, we could have him before Dartford.

“It’s nice that we can have a relationship with people like that where we can both do our business and get on with it.

“We’ll have a cup of tea before the game and shake hands and we’ll do the same after.

“But we want three points. They’ve had a tough start to the season, same as we have, but they had a fantastic result beating Bath and hopefully both teams will pick up and move forward.

“That’s what we’ve got to do and we have to go there and get a result before coming back to Clarence Park against Concord.”
