RADLETT signing Steve Cordingley has been bowled out even before the start of the 2008 campaign.
Cordingley, the leading Hertfordshire county batsman, had joined from relegated Hertford but work has ruled him out for possibly two years.
The arrival of Cordingley would have been a considerable boost to Radlett looking to build on third spot in the Home Counties Premier League.
Shane Burger is returning from Johannesburg as captain with fellow Gauteng professional Richard Cameron, 21, who will head Radlett's schools coaching scheme. Another new signing is Paul Barker, the Hertfordshire left-arm spinner, from Potters Bar.
Though Radlett have both Herts wicketkeepers in Steve Lowe and Tom Jenkins, the club is short of glovemen. Nets at Hatfield Village have started and new players should contact Charlie Randall on 07770 382127.
