HARPENDEN Swimming Club celebrated successes on Sunday evening with the presentations of various awards.
Hertfordshire ASA President Mrs Jane Evans was in attendance to present the club with their Swim21 accreditation certificate which was received by Club Captains Amy Thompson and Eric Baker. Jane then stayed on to present certificates medals and trophies to all the swimmers including British Age Group Category (BAGCATS) Champion Flora Hanson, aged 13.
Mrs Evans pointed out that despite the fact the club has been around in one form or another for a number of years, as a competitive club it has only really existed for approximately six years and the achievements in such a short period of time are very impressive, not only putting all of the policies and procedures in place for swim 21 but also in entering so many successful swimmers in League, County and Regional Championships and coaching a County Champion and a Scottish National Age Group medal winner.
Next on the calendar are the Regional Youth Championships on from Saturday, May 3, to Monday, May 5, in Norwich. Telephone 07767 683956 or see the website www.harpendensc.co.uk for more details.
