HARPENDEN were defeated at title chasers Bishop's Stortford on Saturday in the Home Counties Premier League Division Two (East).
After losing the toss, Harpenden were inserted and despite good knocks from Will Jones (68) and Will Spencer (50) the total of 201-10 off 58 overs proved short.
With key bowlers Mark Mason and Ben Mahoney missing, Stortford eased to victory in reply, blasting 205-4 off 44.5 overs. David Hughes fired 83 not out and Glenn Querl hit 58.
Stortford are second in the table behind leaders Potters Bar with Harpenden occupying sixth spot.
