ENGLAND international Andy Farrell tackled questions from the floor as the Sporting Lunch Club held their latest charity event at Woollams. Harpenden-based Farrell and Saracens RFC teammate Andy Kyriacou, based in Markyate, were on the ball as they helped the Lunch Club raise almost £6,000 for the Saracens Sport Foundation on Friday.

The auction, hosted by Chris Small of Hertfordshire Auctions, included New Zealand legend Chris Jack's All Black training jersey signed by the 2007 World Cup players and a Saracens 2008/09 shirt signed by the squad. Sponsors International Labmate put up a Party Spirit Hamper and there was also a seven night break in Mauritius and Corporate hospitality for four at a Saracens home fixture. Gordon Banks, Foundation Director, said: "This is absolutely fantastic. It is going to make a significant difference to the work we are doing with the schools throughout Hertfordshire. The people of St Albans have shown great generosity."

The event was organised by Lisa Bates and Susan Mountford and the Sporting Lunch Club Ltd thanked sponsor Mr Michael Pattison of International Labmate, Neil Dekker at OA Sports Club, Fuchsia Pink Florists, Hawkeye Photography, Alban Arena, BarSixty2, Cannons Health & Fitness Club, Matt Thomas Corrective Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer and Champneys, St Albans, for their support.

The partnership between Saracens and OAs is continually growing. Banks said: "The Saracens first team are now regularly using the facilities at Woollams for training and really enjoy coming here. while the A team matches here attract good crowds.

"Saracens also have an Academy at Oaklands College and we have a really talented group of guys from the local area training and getting their education in St Albans.
