RIGHT back Alex Bailey has taken his chance with some impressive displays for St Albans City in recent weeks.
Illness to Lee Protheroe, injury to Chris Seeby and positional switches for regular right back James Fisher to centre back and midfield have allowed recent signing Bailey a run in the side.
The former Chesterfield player turns 25 on Sunday and has looked a class addition to the City squad. Manager Castle felt it would take him some time to rediscover the competitive edge but feels that Bailey has benefitted from a full pre-season with Bournemouth. He said: "Alex Bailey has done fantastic. He has come into a back four and they have not done a massive amount wrong. Alex has had a lot of time out from playing competitive football but he has had a full pre-season at Bournemouth and there is the difference. He has trained and had a ball at his feet, he just hasn't had competitive games.
