With the UK political parties in turmoil, a volatile stock market and huge levels of uncertainty in the country the forthcoming St Albans Business Festival will be an opportunity for local businesses to get together and discuss their futures in the world pos- Brexit.
St Albans had one of the highest turnouts in the EU Referendum in the country with the vast majority voting to Remain.
This week business people will have the opportunity to quiz the secretary of state for business and innovation, Sajid Javid MP on what happens now
Mr Javid has stated in the national press that there is no need to panic following the vote to leave but he can expect to be asked some tough questions when he addresses businesses from across the district at the festival finale lunch on Friday at Sopwell House.
The Business Festival runs all week and is being organised by St Albans District Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber executive director Lisa Bates said: “The future for the country as a whole is uncertain so now more than ever is the time for local businesses to come together to discuss the challenges and where opportunities may lie - we want to continue to help our business community whatever the prevailing business conditions.”
