YOUNG tennis players received a volley of praise after completing a five-hour tennis marathon for charity. Oliver Fox, Tom Pugh, Aaron Watts, and Joe Smith, all aged 14, played a five-hour doubles tennis match for Sport Relief, and raised more than £270.
YOUNG tennis players received a volley of praise after completing a five-hour tennis marathon for charity.
Oliver Fox, Tom Pugh, Aaron Watts, and Joe Smith, all aged 14, played a five-hour doubles tennis match for Sport Relief, and raised more than £270.
The lads donned wigs, fluorescent clothing and football socks, before taking to the courts of St Albans Tennis Club in Jersey Lane and slogging it out. Head coach Martin Taylor let them use a court for free and other tennis club members gathered to watch.
While the boys played they were assisted Jack Pugh and Niall Watts, who went round collecting the money.
Junior secretary Brendon Fagan said they did a fantastic job and carried on until the floodlights went out at 9.30pm.
