A YOUNG mother-of-three who died suddenly in her St Albans home suffered from epilepsy, an inquest heard yesterday (Thursday).

Charlotte Smith, aged 28, had a fatal epileptic fit at her Drakes Drive home on the morning of December 2 last year.

She was found slumped forward on her knees by her seven-year-old son. The ambulance crew, who arrived shortly afterwards, pronounced Ms Smith dead on the scene.

Ms Smith was diagnosed with epilepsy 12 years ago. Her neurologist Dr Linda Parsons said that she was in good health at the time of her most recent appointment.

Coronor Edward Thomas extended his condolences to Ms Smith's three young children and added: "She looked after her kids so well and they'll miss her greatly.
